Taking engagement to the people on Tasmania’s longest road route.

The Tasman Highway, which connects Hobart and Launceston via the stunning East Coast, is the longest highway in Tasmania, and also one of the most scenic. Era was engaged to lead stakeholder engagement and provide approvals strategy support for the investigation of road improvements along the Tasman Highway, between Sorell and Launceston.

Era took engagement to where the people were, delivering pop-ups and other engagement opportunities at local high streets, Saturday markets, and other public spaces along the corridor. The approach led to high-quality responses that reflect the diversity of the communities that use the road every day.

This project formed part of a Tasmanian Government commitment to implement major improvements to this road corridor, to ensure that this route had the safety and capacity to service the East Coast’s booming tourism industry, and local communities and businesses.

Project Highlights

  • Delivered pop-up engagement sessions across a 400 km road corridor encompassing Tasmania’s eastern and northern regions.

  • Collaborated with industry-leading engineers to strategise future road improvements and investment priorities.

  • Developed and managed an online engagement strategy that included interactive mapping (Social PinPoint), surveys and graphic design content.

  • Leveraged industry relationships with collaborators, clients and partners to secure the right engagement touchpoints with the right stakeholders.

Let’s build legacy together.
