Supporting Australia’s energy transition via full-service approvals management.

Era was engaged by Ark Energy to prepare the environmental impact statement (EIS) and planning report for the construction of a 300 MW wind farm and associated infrastructure in St Patricks Plains, northern Tasmania. Wind farm projects present Tasmania with the opportunity to advance its transition to renewable energy, in line with the Tasmanian Renewable Energy Target.

Era prepared the EIS, coordinated all specialist studies, prepared the planning report and application to local council, and assisted Ark Energy to navigate the complexities of local, state and commonwealth approvals processes. Era also provided expert planning evidence in a third-party appeal to the planning permit. Local and state approvals have now been granted.

Project Highlights

  • Guided our client through complex regulatory requirements and proactively identified and managed key issues.

  • Provided approvals management support and coordination of technical subconsultants, helping drive project forward through to approval.

  • Once operational, the St Patricks Plain Wind Farm is expected to contribute 10% of the electricity needs under Tasmanian Renewable Energy Target.

Let’s build legacy together.
