Improving environmental outcomes through adaptable sewerage infrastructure.

Combining three separate but interconnected projects, the Selfs Point Sewer Transformation Project is delivering on TasWater's commitment to invest in new and improved sewerage infrastructure to cater for future growth across Hobart.

Providing services across the different projects, Era's most significant contribution was obtaining planning and environmental approvals for the Selfs Point Sewage Treatment Plant upgrade, involving assessment by the EPA and Council. Era's multi-disciplinary team of scientists and planners collaborated to deliver a comprehensive environmental impact statement and planning permit application; Era also coordinated and managed a team of technical subconsultants delivering specialist assessments. Working with TasWater to engage regulators and address specific requirements, Era successfully obtained approval for the project, which is now under construction.

As part of our services, Era has also assisted with providing advice and separate approvals on a range of early works and associated developments.

Project Highlights

  • Acted as whole-of-project advisor on planning and environmental approval requirements.

  • Prepared environmental impact assessment, managing technical inputs that satisfied project-specific guidelines.

  • Currently supporting post-approval secondary consents.

  • Upgrades significantly improved environmental outcomes for the Derwent Estuary and are designed to be adaptable to Hobart’s future change and growth.

Let’s build legacy together.
