Community engagement

Since opening its doors over a century ago, the Cadbury factory has cemented itself as a Tasmanian institution. Cadbury has been employing Tasmanians – and making our sweet treats – since 1921.

Era is providing planning and engagement assistance for a new visitor experience, which aims to revitalise the Cadbury factory site in Claremont. As part of this project, the project team will reinstate the classic factory tour experience, introduce a ferry service including the construction of a new ferry terminal, and transform the peninsula’s existing parkland. Era’s engagement efforts have found that the surrounding community, many of whom have a strong relationship with the factory, are excited at this new opportunity.

The Chocolate Experience at Cadbury is anticipated to open in 2027 and will contribute around $120 million a year to Tasmania’s visitor economy.
