Supporting approvals at the world’s edge for one of Tasmania’s newest guided walk experiences.

Era was engaged by the Tasmanian Walking Company to facilitate the development approval for a guided walk on the Three Capes Track – a 4-day, 3-night experience. Two lodge sites were proposed, with lodges to include a communal lounge, dining and kitchen area, deck, toilets, showers and basins, and separate sleeping rooms to accommodate two guests each.

There were numerous constraints for the development of the sites, including environmental values in the Tasman National Park, the management of wastewater and stormwater, bushfire hazard management (including emergency management), visual impact and construction management regimes and protocols.

Era supported the site identification process, facilitated both the environmental and development approval processes, and assisted with the resolution of conditions of approval and the project management of the building and plumbing permit stage through to completion.

Project Highlights

  • Supported site identification process with team of subconsultants based on balancing least environmental impact with visitor experience requirements.

  • Navigated and managed approval requirements through to completion including reserve activity assessment, local planning approval and secondary consents.

  • Provided technical bushfire hazard and emergency management support.

Let’s build legacy together.
