Rebuilding on the Overland Track and reconnecting people & nature in the wake of bushfire loss.
In February 2025, Tasmanian Walking Company’s much‑loved Pine Forest Moor hut was lost during West Coast Complex bushfires that burned across the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area (TWWHA).
In the wake of the fires, the challenge was clear: rebuild quickly and responsibly, enabling walkers to return at the beginning of the 2026 season while respecting the environmental and cultural significance of the site.
Just 10 months later, approvals and the rebuild of the temporary standing camp were completed. Era partnered closely with the Tasmanian Walking Company to chart a clear, efficient pathway forward, leveraging our deep experience in remote Tasmanian settings to lead the Reserve Activity Assessment (RAA) and coordinate the planning pathway to keep the recovery moving.
