Supporting in-house capability and bridging the gap with community to resolve complex concerns.

Era was engaged by Sorell Council to independently facilitate solutions for growing traffic, parking and safety challenges at the western end of Park Beach, an area experiencing increased visitation from both surfers and café patrons.

Through a collaborative process, Era reviewed Council’s background work, supported the development of engagement materials, and facilitated two workshops with over 40 stakeholders – including residents, business owners and surfing groups.

The workshops enabled open dialogue, built mutual understanding, and resulted in a clear set of practical actions for immediate implementation, collaborative initiatives and longer-term ideas. This process helped Council move forward with strategic, community-backed improvements for the area.

Project Highlights

  • Provided short-term, independent support to Council during engagement on a contentious community issue.

  • Facilitated community meetings with a focus on finding common ground to ensure successful outcomes.

  • Used workshop activities designed to encourage collaboration to help community visualise solutions.

Let’s build legacy together.
