Inner city housing delivering a better future for at-risk young people.

The Hobart Youth Foyer, known as Youth 2 Independence, delivered 26 inner city, self-contained apartments and support services for 16-24 year olds who are, or are at risk of, experiencing homeless. A collaborative effort between Homes Tasmania and Anglicare Tasmania, who continue onsite management of operations, the youth foyer supports young people by providing foundations for a better future.

Working with Liminal Architecture and Howarth Fisher & Associates, Era not only achieved a planning permit for the project but provided planning support from early concept designs through the condition endorsement. Key planning issues included working with existing development and occupants on the site, including reallocation of onsite parking and providing improved pedestrian access and amenity.
