Monica Cameron

Monica Cameron is an experienced planner who brings a collaborative spirit and deep knowledge of the Tasmanian and Victorian planning systems to Era’s statutory and strategic projects. She began her career in Melbourne, working on planning permit applications for large- and medium-scale residential, commercial, retail and mixed-use developments across Victoria and Tasmania, before joining Era in 2020.

Now one of Era’s lead approvals managers, Monica’s work spans statutory, strategic and environmental projects across the state. She has a comprehensive understanding of the Tasmanian planning system and maintains close working relationships with regulatory bodies and other consultants in the industry.

Monica’s project experience spans diverse industries and she thrives on the challenge of working on complex projects and using innovative thinking to obtain approvals.

Monica has also led strategic planning projects to prepare structure plans and settlement strategies, working collaboratively with councils to develop tangible and meaningful actions to sustainably manage growth in their area. Additionally, she has appeared as an expert witness before the Tasmanian Civil and Administrative Appeals Tribunal and the Tasmanian Planning Commission.

Having grown up on the north-west coast of Tasmania, her local knowledge, existing relationships with communities and planning skills are a unique combination for enabling good planning and achieving clients’ goals.
