Daniel Elson

Dan Elson is a principal environmental consultant who specialises in environmental impact assessment and approval for large-scale complex projects. He has extensive experience not just in Tasmania but across Australia, leading environmental impact work in Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Dan is one of Era’s lead EIS project managers and authors, joining the team in 2021. His breadth of experience enables him to lead environmental approvals for diverse projects, including waste and composting facilities, wind farms, industrial facilities, mines and wastewater facilities.

Dan has a particular aptitude for projects that involve consideration of complex environmental impacts related to the marine environment, groundwater, waste management, contamination and air emissions. His combination of on-ground field experience, multidisciplinary industry knowledge, and well-developed technical writing ability allows him to develop timely and successful environmental outcomes for his clients.

Dan is a disciplined technical writer, producing documentation that is robust, timely and responsive to regulator expectations. He understands the rigour, evidence and clarity required to progress assessments efficiently. Clients value his practical judgement in guiding their decisions.
